| 8/10-13/2016 Fort Clinch SP, FL: A Painted Bunting flock visited us but the brilliant adult males skulked in the background. (The images of the males shown here were captured earlier this year, the first image making it into the Wild Amelia 2017 Calendar!) Two different immature males came out to beg and catch a drink along with the group. Shown here is a Painted Bunting study. Also: Northern Mockingbird (juv), Brown-headed Cowbird (bathing), Common Ground-Dove , Northern Cardinal (note the female's dark bill indicating juvenile status), and Mourning Dove . |
