7/20/2016 Huguenot Memorial Park, FL: We had to go back as the juveniles are beginning to fly. Sandwich Tern (ad, juv), more Royal Tern (ad,juv), with the last two images showing a Sandwich Tern juvenile side by side with a Royal Tern juvenile. [Interesting behavior on the Royal Terns: When a parent flies in to feed a chick, a group of adults quickly gather around. They do not attempt to steal the food. We have not seen this gathering behavior with the Sandwich Terns.] Also, a Laughing Gull losing its breeding plumage and Chimney Swift .

7/20-30/2016 Amelia Island, FL: Sights from around the Island including a Loggerhead Turtle hatching during the daylight hours . So awesome! Also a weird shooting star crossed the morning sky on the 24th but lingered so long that it seemed more like space junk than a meteor.

8/1/2016 Okefenokee NWR, GA: It seems a number of juveniles were wandering the swamp. Red-shouldered Hawk (juv), Pileated Woodpecker (juv), Black-crowned Night-Heron (juv), a rather distant Red-headed Woodpecker pair interacting, White Ibis (ad+juv), Wild Turkey , and Black Vulture .
