6/14/2016 thru 7/1/2016 We traveled to Las Vegas, NV - on to Lone Pine, CA - then to San Diego, CA - and to Santa Cruz Island, CA (for the endemic Island Scrub-Jay) - up to San Francisco, CA - and finally out to Denver, CO . It was a great trip to see family and we also picked up some life birds for us . Click on NEXT PAGE below to see that trip.

7/14/2016 Huguenot Memorial Park, FL: What an amazing sight to see thousands of Royal Terns (and other species) on the beach feeding their young. We were sorry to have only had a couple of hours to spend there. Also, Common Ground-Dove and Northern Cardinal (f).

7/17/2016 Fort George Island, FL: A brief stop - we saw much more than we caught as warblers, nighthawks, and kingfishers zipped by. An Indian Peafowl (formerly Common Peafowl) did give us good looks as did a juvenile Red-bellied Woodpecker , a Downy Woodpecker , and a rather scruffy looking Great Crested Flycatcher . Do we have pretty sunrises on Amelia Island or what?

7/20/2016 Back in Florida at Huguenot Memorial Park, FL: We had to go back as the juveniles are beginning to fly. Royal Tern study.
