| 6/24/2015 Mount Whitney, California, USA: On the way back to FL, we camped and hike around Mt. Whitney for a few days (very impressive peak!). Townsend's Solitaire , Steller's Jay (ad and juv), Phainopepla (m), California Quail , White-breasted Nuthatch , Osprey at nest , Western Kingbird , and Northern Flicker (red-shafted). Also, a Common Raven and Dark-eyed Junco . |
| 6/29 and 30/2015 Las Vegas, NV, USA: On the way back to FL, we stopped to visit family and also did some birding, of course. Costa's Hummingbird (and juv), Cinnamon Teal and young, Eared Grebe , Verdin at nest, Black-tailed Gnatcatcher , juvenile American Coot , Mallard with young, Killdeer staying cool in 112 degrees, Yellow-headed Blackbird (m+f), Redhead with young, Wilson's Phalarope , and Say's Phoebe. |
