| 1/6 thru 1/12 2013: Our trip to India started in the beautiful Goa region. Santosh Redkar (9881180424) was our wonderful guide near the coast. Thanks, Santosh! Then, we went to the famed Backwoods Camp with Loven as our guide. Thanks, Loven, and the Backwoods camp staff! Loven was an extraordinary birder and the forests around the camp were great! | 1/10 and 1/11 2013: Area in and around the Backwoods Camp, Goa, India: Quality of images vary: Sri Lanka Frogmouth (very cool!) , Tickell's Blue Flycatcher , two warblers TBD, White-throated Kingfisher , Wire-tailed Swallow on a wire, Yellow-browed Bulbul , and a Purple-rumped Sunbird study (with a male taking a dew bath and a few images from coastal Goa.) |
| 1/12 2013: Area near Backwoods Camp: A Crested Serpent Eagle gave us a good look! Quality of images vary as we caught exciting life birds and beautiful old friends: Plum-headed Parakeet , Lesser Goldenback (or Black-rumped Flameback), Jungle Babbler preening another, Common Iora , Indian Robin , Grey-breasted Prinia , Crimson-backed Sunbird , Chestnut-tailed Starling , Chestnut-shouldered Petronia , Blue-faced Malkoha (just a glimpse!), Blue-capped Rock Thrush , Black-hooded Oriole preening, Baya Weaver , and Red-vented Bulbul. |
| 1/12 2013: Area near Backwoods Camp: A Shikra was very obliging! Also: Red-whiskered Bulbul , White-rumped Shama , White-browed Bulbul , a distant Rufous Woodpecker and Thick-billed Flowerpecker along with two hawks in flight TBD. |
