| 1/6 thru 1/12 2013: Our trip to India started in the beautiful Goa region. Santosh Redkar (9881180424) was our wonderful guide near the coast. Thanks, Santosh! Then, we went to the famed Backwoods Camp with Loven as our guide. Thanks, Loven, and the Backwoods camp staff! Loven was an extraordinary birder and the forests around the camp were great! | 1/10 and 1/11 2013: Area in and around the Backwoods Camp, Goa, India: quality of images vary as we caught some exciting life birds and some beautiful old friends: Malabar Parakeet , Malabar Grey Hornbill , Greater Goldenback (or Greater Flameback ), Malabar Trogon , Greater-rackettailed Drongo , Jungle Babbler , Indian Pond Heron , Heart-spotted Woodpecker , Grey-fronted Green Pigeon , and Malabar Whistling Thrush . Lots of monkeys thrashed about in the canopy above us along with the Giant Squirrel found in the area. |
| 1/10 and 1/11 2013: Area in and around the Backwoods Camp, Goa, India: quality of images vary as we caught some exciting life birds and some beautiful old friends (More on NEXT PAGE) : Flame-throated Bulbul , Dark-fronted Babbler , Orange Minivet , Plain Flowerpecker (it was fun to watch the little guy take a dew bath in the wet leaves.) , Chestnut-headed Bee-eater , Forest Wagtail , Oriental Magpie Robin , Oranged-headed Thrush , White-rumped Shama (always hiding or in low light!), Streak-throated Swallow (smaller), Red-rumped Swallow , Red-whiskered Bulbul , and Velvet-fronted Nuthatch. |
