7/22-26/2012  A trip to the Tibetan Highlands via Xining, Datong, Qinghai Hu, and on to Tsaka (Caka)
offered us some wonderful views and some great birds.  A big thanks to Tang Jun, our guide who has
amazing eyesight!  A very weary Great Crested Grebe was being bothered by his/her young. It was fun to
be so close and see the adult in breeding plumage.  Also shown: Gansu Leaf Warbler , Gray-headed
Bullfinch , White-browed Rosefinch study (m+f) , Sichuan Tit , White-cheeked Nuthatch , Eurasian
Treecreeper , Elliot's Laughingthrush (and juvenile),  Common Tern , Brown-headed Gull , Pallas's Gull ,
Chinese Nuthatch , and a Chestnut Thrush taking a bath!  Also, Carrion Crow.
