11/5/2016 Tasmania, AUSTRALIA: We made it to Tasmania! Of the 12 endemics, we caught 11! We took the ferry to Bruny Island and almost the first birds we saw were two Green Rosellas feeding on the grass .

11/5/2016 Tasmania, AUSTRALIA: Common Bronzewing , distant Brush Bronzewing , Brown Thornbill, Brown Goshawk , Australian Magpie with juvenile, Black-headed Honeyeater , and Forest Raven .

11/6/2016 Tasmania, AUSTRALIA: So sad - we have two days left to the end of the trip. Tasmania was wonderful - we could have easily spent a month here! Of the 12 endemics, we caught 11! (We are still hoping we caught a random Scrubtit in our last day of pictures but we don't think so....) A highlight was seeing a Pink Robin (m,f) at nest. Unfortunately we seemed to be bothering the male and he wouldn't feed the chicks with us there. So we shot quickly and left quickly so that we didn't disturb the family. Also: Tasmanian Thornbill and the fascinating endemic Yellow Wattlebird !

11/5/2016 Tasmania, AUSTRALIA: This adult and juvenile Eastern Rosella were of interest to us because of the coloration. Vents were red like Crimson Rosella and adult showed bluish cheeks as well. (Tasmania's Green Rosella is shown below at bottom of page.)

11/5/2016 Tasmania, AUSTRALIA: Yellow-throated Honeyeater , Striated Pardalote , Superb Fairywren , Golden Whistler (m,f), Silvereye (Tas. form), Satin Flycatcher , Olive Whistler , Little Wattlebird , Grey Fantail at nest , and a Grey Butcherbird .
