| More from Fl trip 12/31/09-1/2/10 (Click next pages for S. Florida rarities etc...) These pics of a Hooded Merganser pair were actually taken around 12/26/09 near the nursing home we were visiting. A couple of herons were following the ducks around the edge, allowing them to herd the fish towards the shore for them! One never knows what gem is around the corner in Florida...or anywhere for that matter. Keep your eyes open! |

| More from Fl trip 12/31/09-1/2/10 Early morning in Miami, Larry Manfredi led us to a neighborhood where Yellow-chevroned Parakeets and Monk Parakeets congregate before taking off to forage - it was quite a sight! (We believe Red-masked or Mitred flew over but can't tell from our pics.) It was fun to watch the social interactions! A Eurasian-collared Dove , DC Cormorant with breakfast , and the Black Vulture hooligans who landed on our parked car at the Everglades and left such a smell, we had to go to a car wash! The Barn Owl and Great White Heron were taken at the Bird Rehab Center, Key Largo. |
