| 7/29/18: A trip to NC to see family had us stopping in GA and along the Blue Ridge Parkway, NC, as we traveled. GA: The Painted Bunting males were gorgeous! (OK, the Females were cute too....) We also took Ruby-throated Hummingbird individuals and a Tufted Titmouse (juv.). |

| 7/29/18: A trip to NC to see family had us stopping in GA and along the Blue Ridge Parkway, NC, as we traveled. Blue Ridge Parkway, NC: A calling light juvenile Broad-winged Hawk visited us as we searched for warblers. We saw many warblers but most were up too high for great photography. A juv. Blackburnian Warbler came close as did a Black-throated Green Warbler. Then we found the reported White-cheeked Pintail along with Mallard , Egyptian Goose , and a weird "Muscovy" type pair with chicks. Also, a juv. Dark-eyed Junco and an adult Song Sparrow with its juvenile. The butterflies were wonderful! |
