6/16/18: St. Marks NWR, FL:  It was being a brilliant morning at St. Marks when we spied movement along
the banks.  Patience paid off as a Clapper Rail family gave us a show!  The little ones waited on the bank
as the parents swam or flew across to retrieve food for them.
6/16/18: St. Marks NWR, FL:  A Tricolored Heron gave us some looks as did a Little Blue Heron and
Brown-head Cowbird.  Also: a ragged Laughing Gull, Forster's Tern and Cotton Rat.
6/16/18: near St. Marks NWR, FL:  A Red-headed Woodpecker , Eastern Towhee singing, and a Common
Nighthawk. (There were at least two calling to one another and zippng between the tree tops.)
6/17/18: near St. Marks NWR, FL:  The second day in the area we found another family of Clapper Rails!  We
don't usually get to see these secretive birds out and about.  The young ones swam too.
