| 6/16/18: St. Marks NWR, FL: It was being a brilliant morning at St. Marks when we spied movement along the banks. Patience paid off as a Clapper Rail family gave us a show! The little ones waited on the bank as the parents swam or flew across to retrieve food for them. |
| 6/16/18: St. Marks NWR, FL: A Tricolored Heron gave us some looks as did a Little Blue Heron and Brown-head Cowbird. Also: a ragged Laughing Gull, Forster's Tern and Cotton Rat. |
| 6/16/18: near St. Marks NWR, FL: A Red-headed Woodpecker , Eastern Towhee singing, and a Common Nighthawk. (There were at least two calling to one another and zippng between the tree tops.) |

| 6/17/18: near St. Marks NWR, FL: The second day in the area we found another family of Clapper Rails! We don't usually get to see these secretive birds out and about. The young ones swam too. |
