| 1/14/2017 Gainesville, Florida: It was wonderful to see both an American Bittern (2) and Sora (6) wandering the wetlands in plain view. Also: Palm Warbler , Swamp Sparrow , Marsh Wren , Limpkin , Blue-winged Teal pair, and hordes of Black-bellied Whistling-Duck tearing about in the sky. |

| 1/23+24/2017 Amelia Island and Destin Area, FL: We went searching for and found a Snowy Plover trio. They were sitting out in the sun wondering where all that wind came from. Also: Osprey , Downy Woodpecker , Brown-headed Nuthatch , Red-breasted Merganser (m, m eclipse, f), Common Loon , Ruby-crowned Kinglet , Sanderling , Snowy Egret , Yellow-rumped Warbler , Gray Catbird , Great Egret , Great Blue Heron , Brown Pelican , and and an elegant Bonaparte's Gull dancing on the waves. |
