| 1/6/2017 Amelia Island, Fl: HAPPY NEW YEAR! We were able to take off a morning to bird 'on island'. We caught a Red-shouldered Hawk greeting the dawn as well as a Pileated Woodpecker zipping over the Greenway. Also: Great Egret , Eastern Phoebe , Downy Woodpecker , and Swamp Sparrow. Also a few pics from back in December when there were shorebirds swarming the lagoon south of the island: Lesser Yellowlegs flock, Semipalmated Plover flock, and Short-billed Dowitcher flock . |
