2/1/2016 A brief stop along the Greenway and Main Beach, Amelia Island, FL: Herons and egrets were out hunting: Tricolored Heron , Snowy Egret , and Green Heron along with a Great Egret . A Black Skimmer flock was roosting. Just a reminder to PLEASE keep dogs on the leash and avoid resting birds - thanks! Also caught a pic of a banded Sanderling and spied a Droneius espius which actually also seemed to be bird watching.

2/5/2016 Amelia Island, FL: A flock of Cedar Waxwings was swarming through the stiff breeze, pausing to rest only after snatching some berries. It was quite a sight and the images don't do the scene justice!

2/6-12/2016 Amelia Island, FL: We had to go back and try for some more Cedar Waxwing images as the berries are going fast and who know how long the flock will hang around? What cool birds!

2/1-6/2016 Amelia Island, FL: Off Fort Clinch pier: Greater Black-backed Gull, Black Scoter and Lesser Scaup. With the camera being buffeted by wild winds and rain and the ducks diving into the surging surf, it was amazing we caught anything. It sure was fun trying though!
