| 2/5/2015 to 2/27/2015 We flew to the "End of the World" Ushuaia, Terra del Fuego, Argentina with the intent to catch a ship, the Akademik Sergey Vavilov, to Antarctica. (BTW, We succeeded and were able to see the Falkland Islands and South Georgia as well!) Pics of penguins are on the way! But first... Ushuaia, Argentina: Our wonderful guide, Andrew Spencer, showed us around the Ushuaia vicinity including Terra del Fuego National Park, on the day before we boarded our One Ocean research vessel. |

| 2/5/2015 Ushuaia, Argentina: A scene at the national park had a pair of Great Grebes feeding two young ones being carried on one parent's back. The fish brought was a bit big and had to be softened up before the chick finally was able to swallow it down. It was a treat to watch! Beginning our sea voyage, we sighted a Chilean Skua at dawn, a Southern Giant Petrel and A Black-browed Albatross. |

| 2/5-6/2015 Ushuaia, Argentina: Crested Duck with young, Correndera Pipit , a friendly Chimango Caracara , Chiloe Wigeon (or Southern Wigeon) , A Black-chested Buzzard-eagle (Juv, interacting with a Southern Caracara, and ad), Austral Negrito , Buff-winged Cinclodes (or Bar-winged), Blackish Oystercatcher , Black-faced Ibis , Austral Parakeet , Dark-bellied Cinclodes , a Dolphin Gull study , Austral Thrush (juv and ad bathing), Black-necked Swan with young, Austral Blackbird, Ringed Kingfisher , Megellanic Tapaculo , Grey-flanked Cinclodes , Yellow-billed Teal, Yellow-billed Pintail , White-crested Elaenia , Megellanic Oystercatcher , Southern Lapwing , Long-tailed Meadowlark , Kelp Gull , Kelp Goose pair , Flying Steamer-duck, and finally a Flightless Steamer-duck pair with the brilliant orange bills. |
