| 1/20/2012 Botanical Gardens, Shanghai, China. All parks we have come across in Shanghai are beautifully landscaped parks and all are well-used by the population. One can find birds (see our bird blog) and spots of solitude amidst the dancing, Tai-chi, kite-flying, and general ruckus of city life. |
| 1/21/2012 Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai, China. A small downtown park, built during the Ming Dynasty for parents by a loving son, is surrounded by the bustling festive street life. We were able to see it during New Year's festivities - and in the year of the Dragon. |

| 2/18/2012 A great 40km bridge takes one out to Yangshan Island port where viewing the ship containers is overwhelming. But there is also a beautiful hike, rock formations, a monastery, and views to be had. |
