8/18/12 North of Rudong, China:  A birding trip with Zhang Lin, a superior birder and guide from Shanghai
( www.shanghaibirdingtour.com ) allowed us looks at some rare Spoon-billed Sandpipers (not shown)
and Nordmann's Greenshanks (unfortunately, only caught lousy pics - light bird in first pic). Thanks Lin
for a wonderful day!  Shown:  Grey-tailed Tattler , Red-billed Starling , Lesser Coucal , Far-Eastern Curlew
, Eurasian Oystercatcher with other birds, Eurasian Curlew , Gull-billed Tern , Lesser Sand Plover ,
Broad-billed Sandpiper , Black-headed Gull in flight , Black-bellied Plover (or Grey Plover 2x in breeding
plumage) , Barred-tailed Godwit , Black-tailed Gull , Little Egret , and plover group shots.
8/24/12 North of Rudong, China:  After a day of mud and shorebirds, it was exciting to see a Red-necked
Phalarope swimming about a small inland pool near the coast.  The bird was quite tame though very
active.  We would have stayed longer but the light was fading due to sunset.  Also seen: Yellow-rumped
Flycatcher , Bull-headed Shrike (a number of juvs.) and an Asian Brown Flycatcher pair.
