| 11/2+3/2016 Emerald (north of Melbourne), Australia: First: Long-billed Corella - they are so very interesting! Then: White-throated Treecreeper , White-browed Scrubwren , Red-browed Finch , Grey Fantail , Wedge-tailed Eagle in flight , Eastern Yellow Robin , Sulfur-crested Cockatoo , poor pic of a Superb Lyrebird (but we did see them - wonderful!), Welcome Swallow , Olive Whistler (f), male Eastern Thornbill , Crimson Rosella , and Bassian Thrush . |
| 11/4/2016 Melbourne, Australia: The area around Melbourne varies from mountain forests to low wetlands to tropical glades to drier habitat. It was all beautiful and we were sad to leave it on our last day! With a plane to catch (heading to Tasmania - the final stage of our trip), we birded the local area. Australian Wood Duck , Australian Magpie (white-backed), Chestnut Teal (m), Common Bronzewing , Common Myna , Little Raven , Little Wattlebird , Musk Lorikeet , Noisy Miner , Rainbow Lorikeet , Red Wattlebird , and Silver Gull . |
