Then, Pheasant Coucal , Little Corella , Blue-winged Kookaburra , Eastern Koel (m+f), Double-barred Finch flock , Figbird with young, and a Grey-crowned Babbler group building a nest together. | 12/21/2013-1/2/2014 Darwin, Australia: We had an amazing trip to Australia's Northern Territory. From Darwin we headed towards Kakadu NP via Howard Springs, Fogg Dam Reserve, Leaning Tree Park, Window on the Wetlands, and the Aurora area where we spent a couple of fabulous days in 104 degree heat. 12/30/13 Bitter Springs, Australia: Willy Wagtail , White-gaped Honeyeater , White-breasted Woodswallow (juv begging), Whistling Kite , Red-tailed Black Cockatoo (juv), Pied Butcherbird , Peaceful Dove , Paperbark Flycatcher , Blue-faced Honeyeater (juv), Magpie-lark (with young in nest), Grey-crowned Babbler gathering nest material , Crimson Finch pair enjoying a water break along with a Chestnut - breasted Mannikin . We also had a White-faced Heron fly by (for the record!). |
