| 12/21/2013-1/2/2014 Darwin, Australia: We had an amazing trip to Australia's Northern Territory. From Darwin we headed towards Kakadu NP via Howard Springs, Fogg Dam Reserve, Leaning Tree Park, Window on the Wetlands, and the Aurora area where we spent a couple of fabulous days in 104 degree heat. 12/27/13 Katherine and the Katherine Gorge, Australia: White-bellied Cuckoo-shrike, Weebill, Striated Pardalote, Straw-necked Ibis , Radjah Shelduck , Plumed Whistling-Duck , Pied Cormorant , and a wonderful view via boat of a Great-billed Heron . |
| 12/27/13 Katherine and the Katherine Gorge, Australia: One of the interesting interactions we saw here was a Pied Butcherbird pair playing together. They rolled about on the ground, tossing sticks and leaves in the air and finally ended up mating. Also a Torresian Crow and a Wallaby with its young in the pouch. |
| 12/27/13 Katherine and the Katherine Gorge, Australia: Pacific Black Duck , Hardhead , a distant male Mistletoebird , Double-barred Finch , a male Blue-winged Kookaburra (note blue tail), Blue-faced Honeyeater (juv.), Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike , male Eastern Koel , Magpie Lark , Little Friarbird , Astralasian Grebe , Eastern Osprey , and a Black-faced Woodswallow. |
