| 10/23/2016 Mareeba Wetlands and Kuranda Birdwatching Cabin, Cairns area, Australia: The place had so many birds including a Southern Cassowary that kept wandering through the gardens. That is one amazing creature! Also: Channel-billed Cuckoo and Eastern Koel (m). |
| 10/23/2016 From the Daintree River, we headed via the Marreeba Wetlands to the Kuranda Birdwatching Cabin, Cairns area, Australia: Our hostess at the cabin was wonderful and the place had so many birds including an amazing Southern Cassowary that kept wandering through the gardens. (SEE BELOW) Thanks so much, Christina! Around Kuranda, we also had a close encounter with a little male Double-eyed Fig-Parrot (just adorable!) , a Red-browed Finch duo , a Eastern Spinebill, and Figbird (juv). |
