NFS We did not have time to catch a good shot but watched as a flock of Red-winged Blackbirds
moved in a wave over a corn field, touching down briefly, then swelling upward into the air again
and again. On closer inspection of the few photos taken, we saw that about 50% of the birds had
kernels of corn in their bills. Below, a section of the first picture is enlarged.
